Team Rankings are based on 2 factors:
1)      A projected State Meet. Previous season’s returning swimmers & re-scoring relays after replacing missing relay swimmers. This ‘projected State Meet’ groups teams who are close together. As the season progresses new swimmers develop into likely top-8/16 finishers; returning swimmers are lost (sick, injured, transfers, etc.); and most importantly new key relay swimmers are developed. The projected relay placement changes substantially as the season progresses. 2)      Then the second factor is the estimation of the relative dual meet strength of teams. This factor is largely used to sort teams who are close together in the State Meet Projection. Actual dual meet results are figured into this relative dual meet strength
